Chapter 25: Abhinav’s Stand

The next day, at a family discussion where taunts were again implied, Abhinav finally spoke—voice sharp, steady, dangerous.

“I am saying this once. No one, and I mean no one, speaks a word against Gunnu in my presence again. If she is insulted, take it as an insult to me directly. And remember—I don’t forgive easily.”

The room fell into stunned silence. Relatives shifted uncomfortably. Some tried to laugh it off, but no one dared push further.

Later, Gunnu looked at him, eyes filled with both gratitude and confusion. “Why… why do you fight so hard for me?”

He met her gaze, unwavering. “Because someone had to fall first, Gunnu. And I did. Harder than I ever imagined. I don’t fight for family image. I fight because you are my heart.”

For the first time, she truly believed it: she wasn’t alone in this war.
